Linda Bond, Evening Librarian (staff, part-time)
Linda Bond has worked at Mabee Library since 2003. She graduated from Eastern Illinois University with a Bachelor of Science in Education degree and holds a second Bachelor's Degree of Religious Education in Middle Eastern History from the American Institute for Advanced Biblical Studies. Linda is a Reference Assistant for the Olathe Public Library during the day and earned a Paraprofessional Certification in 2005 and a Reader's Advisory Certification in 2011 from the Kansas City Metro Library Network. In her spare time she enjoys reading, crafts, gardening, and travel. She has 4 sons and 4 grandchildren.
Lon Dagley, Computer Services Librarian/University Archivist (faculty)
Lon Dagley has worked at the Mabee Library since 2006. He earned his Bachelor's of Arts degree in Philosophy and Religion from Northwest Nazarene College (where he met and married his wife). He earned his Master's of Religious Education from Nazarene Theological Seminary, and his Master's of Library Science degree from Emporia State University. He worked at the Headquarters of the Church of the Nazarene in both the Nazarene Archives and in Information Technology for 19 years before coming to MNU.
Bruce Flanders, Library Director (faculty)
Bruce Flanders joined the staff at Mabee Library in November 2011. Previously, he worked as the director of the Lawrence Public Library, and as Technology Coordinator for the State Library of Kansas. He earned his Bachelor of Arts in Art History, English and Geography from the University of Kansas in 1977. He also earned a Masters of Science in Library Science from the University of Illinois in 1978. In his spare time, Bruce enjoys reading (naturally), music, film, collecting vintage stereo equipment, and spending time with his wife Karen and their two children. He resides in Lawrence, Kansas.
Lauren Hays, Instructional and Research Librarian (faculty)
Lauren Hays has been at the Mabee Library since November 2010. Lauren graduated from Oklahoma Baptist University in December 2007 with a Bachelors of Science in Education in Secondary Social Science Education. In December 2011, she graduated with a Masters of Library Science degree from Emporia State University. Currently, she is taking classes in the area of educational technology. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her husband Chad and their dog Stan. She also enjoys reading (particularly works written by Jane Austen) and traveling.
Ruth Henderson, Evening/Weekend Librarian (staff, part-time)
Ruth Henderson has worked at Mabee Library since 2003. She received her BS in Elementary Education from Kansas State University and her MS in Educational Policy and Administration from the University of Kansas. She is employed full-time in Olathe Public Schools where she has been teaching for 27 years, currently teaching 2nd grade at Black Bob Elementary. She enjoys sporting events with her husband and children, K-State football games, reading, boating and traveling.
Julianne Newberry, Technical Services Assistant (staff, full-time)
Julianne Newberry began working in the library in March 2012. She graduated from Oklahoma Christian University in April 2002 with a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education. In December 2011, Julianne graduated with a Master of Library Science degree from Emporia State University. Julianne enjoys using her spare time to read (particularly fantasy books and British history), travel, paint ceramics, and explore her genealogy. She is the proud adoptive owner of two cats: a Tortoiseshell named Smokey and a tabby named Tigger.
Janet Postlewait, Evening/Weekend Librarian (staff, part-time)
Janet Postlewait has worked at Mabee Library since 2009. She has a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education from MNU, and a Master's in Library Science from Emporia State University. In her spare time, Janet enjoys reading and spending time with family and friends.
Glenda Seifert, Public Services Assistant (staff)
Glenda rejoined the staff at Mabee Library in December 2008. Previously, she had worked in the library from 1984-1988 after earning her Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education from MNU. She enjoyed being a stay-at-home mom for twenty years before returning to work at the library. Glenda enjoys working with her husband Barry on home improvement projects and hanging out with her three awesome children and their spouses.
JoAnne Whitlock, Evening/Weekend Librarian (staff, part-time)
JoAnne joined Mabee Library in August 2013. A retired school teacher, JoAnne is devoted to Bible study. When time permits, she enjoys knitting, quilting, and card creating.
