Open Access Resources: Home

This guide provides resources that are available in an open access format.

Databases that Access the Invisible Web

For a list of databases that access the invisible web, please look here.

For more information on the invisible web, please view our Invisible Web Research Guide.

Discovering all the open access journals can be challenging.  Jan Szczepanski puts together a list every month of new open access titles.  His list is available here.

Open Access Resources

These resources are freely accessible on the web.  Many of the sites have access to scholarly journal articles.  Other sites provide statistical information from government resources.

What are Open Access Databases?

Open access journals were created to increase scholarly communication by providing free access to fulltext scientific and scholarly articles that are peer reviewed or subject to editorial quality control.  This is a list of websites you may search for articles without cost. You have the right to read, download, distribute, and link to these articles as long as you properly cite them.
